As members of the fraternity/sorority community, Alpha Delta Pi is proud to welcome those who want to enhance their college experience as part of something bigger. We select and maintain membership on the basis of scholarship, leadership, commitment, and service to the work of the sorority, the university, and the community. Alpha Delta Pi actively encourages a membership which represents a diverse population and does not discriminate in membership selection procedures. Come home to Alpha Delta Pi and find women who are true and loyal, just like our blue and white colors represent. ADPi sisters are leaders and visionaries. We are SGA senators, artists, student athletes, and scholars. We are committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We committed to those when we established the first secret society for collegiate women in 1851 at the first university chartered to grant degrees to women. We are committed to them still today.

Dear Potential New Members,

Recruitment is a wonderful way not to meet new women here at the University of Akron and create memories that will last a lifetime. It is a chance to be your most unique self and find people who will love you just as you are. We want to get to know you! We are just as eager to meet you as you are to meet us. We love welcoming new women into our sisterhood. Trust yourself and the process and know that you will find a new place that feels like home.

Joining Alpha Delta Pi has been one of the most beneficial and rewarding decisions I’ve made in my college career. From the people I’ve met, to the opportunities I’ve been presented with, I can confidently say that Greek life has helped me become the woman I am today. At first, Greek Life seemed so overwhelming and scary, but it quickly turned into something I value highly in my life. Going through recruitment is your chance to discover a new beginning and new parts of yourself, just like all of us have.

Dear Potential New Members,

Primary recruitment is such a great opportunity for you to immerse yourself in campus life. Recruitment can seem scary and intimidating, but this is a time to meet women from many different majors, backgrounds, and other student organizations on campus.

When I went through primary recruitment my freshman year, I did not realize that I was running home to a sisterhood that was so much bigger than just myself. Alpha Delta Pi brought me lifelong connections and life skills that I would not have gained without deciding to join Greek Life.

My advice to you: Do not be afraid to go “all-in”. Deciding to go through recruitment can change some of your future “I wish I had” moments to “I’m so glad I did” moments.
